Inflatable stand-up paddle boards (iSUPs) are the easiest way to get on the water: they're stable, portable, and pack into a backpack. We carry the Aqua Marina lineup, including all-around, advanced all-around, kids, fishing, fitness, river, racing, and multi-person boards.
How to Choose the Right Paddle Board
- Length: boards under 10 feet are nimble and good for kids and rivers; 10 to 11.5 feet is the all-around sweet spot; 12 feet and up track straighter for touring and racing.
- Width and thickness: wider boards (32 inches and up) are more stable, and 6-inch thickness gives good rigidity for adults.
- Weight capacity: choose a board rated well above your body weight plus any gear, pet, or passenger.
- Intended use: fishing boards add mounts and space, fitness boards have a wide, flat deck, and race boards are narrow and fast.
- Package: check whether a paddle, pump, leash, and carry bag are included.
Paddle Board FAQs
What size paddle board should I get?
Most adult beginners do well with a 10'6" to 11'6" all-around board that is at least 32 inches wide. Heavier riders or those carrying gear should consider longer, wider boards.
Are inflatable paddle boards as good as hard boards?
For recreation, touring, and fishing, a quality inflatable board inflated to the recommended PSI performs very well and is far easier to transport and store.
What PSI should I inflate my paddle board to?
Most iSUPs perform best between about 12 and 15 PSI. Always follow the maximum listed for your board.
Can two people ride one paddle board?
Yes, on multi-person or tandem boards with enough length and weight capacity, such as boards over 12 feet designed for multiple riders.
